Today we went over progress thus far. Kirsten and I decided to relocate our site for various issues. We just moved right to the west of our site in Crowley, LA. Our crop is rice, which needs ample amounts of water to survive. The water also helps keep the weeds from growing.
In rice farming the fields are laid out in a grid form to allow for the water to run throughout the field. For studio today we were supposed to start will 3 concepts and discuss them in a pin-up. Kirsten and I focused on how the field was laid out rather than the rice plant. Taking the grid from the field layout, we probably will use a grid system to create a layout in plan or elevation. In further thinking, looking at the rice plant and how the rice is actually stacked onto of each other while still being on the stalk might push the design also.
